Supporting Life Changes Framework

The Supporting Life Changes Framework is a structured therapeutic framework that helps individuals and couples recognise and change patterns associated with compulsive behaviour, addiction and relationship issues. It combines expert insight with practical strategies to provide a focused, goal-oriented approach to change.

This programme is intended for individuals and couples:

  • Feeling stuck in repetitive or compulsive cycles.
  • Experiencing a loss of control over behaviour.
  • Struggling with sex addiction, porn addiction or substance use.
  • Navigating the impact of infidelity or a relationship breakdown.
  • Prefer a focused, structured approach rather than open-ended therapy.

  2. Understanding emotional drivers and coping strategies
  3. Exploring relevant personal and relational histories
  4. Clarifying objectives for therapy

Outcome: A clear explanation of what is happening and why.

Phase 2: Regulation & Stabilisation

Developing Control and Structure

The focus shifts towards managing behaviour and establishing stability.

This includes:

  • Strategies for managing urges and impulses
  • Developing alternative ways to cope
  • Introducing structure, boundaries and accountability
  • Identifying and reducing high-risk situations

Outcome: Increased control, stability and confidence.

Phase 3: Change & Integration

Creating Lasting Change

This stage focuses on deeper work and on long-term progress.

This includes:

  • Addressing fundamental emotional and psychological factors
  • Working through shame, guilt, and/or relational impact
  • Rebuilding trust (where applicable)
  • Enhancing identity, confidence and decision-making

Outcome: Sustainable behavioural and relational change
